Web future

December 22, 2006

There’s a good article here from Bill Thompson who writes tech stuff on the BBC website. He talks about the quiet revolution which is bringing some big benefits to every day life.
I use the net fat too much (according to the boss) ;-) but I find it soooo useful. Information, banking, shopping, communication and photos are just some of the things I do. Imagine what it will be like in the future? One word: awesome!

Second Life Griefers Attack

December 22, 2006

Second Life is a HUGE online world which, is actually starting to become a way of life for some people. I have an account and have had a quick look, but it would be an even bigger drain on the valuable commodity of time! This article caught my interest and made me chuckle…. Griefers are people who like to disrupt Second Life and they did so in style at a recent cnet interview within the online world. Worth a read :-)

Apple, not quite so cool after all

December 22, 2006

You would think that Apple and Steve Jobs would be at the forefront of the green movement, making sure the cool products look great, but also are environmentally friendly….. Well, you would, wouldn’t you? Unfortunately, this is not the case and Greenpeace want to flag this up. Hats off to them, they have done a very slick parody site highlighting their concerns and it certainly seems that Apple are lagging behind HP, Dell etc. Will it stop me running full tilt to the Apple store after MacWorld? No. But it does leave a slightly bitter taste after the rest of the sweetness associated with the brand.
